SMAK was founded by Smakdaddy, Tbone, and 7SinS nearly 3
years ago making it one of the longest running Online
Gaming Clans. They met in Terrorist Storm where they
were playing co-op games. Soon after that the name
SMAK was torn of Daddy's name and made the clan's.
After
many months of co-op play they decided to hit it up in
Hostage Rescue and start playing competitively. They
soon realized that three members were not enough and begin
to recruit members. This is where they found some of
the best Rogue Spear players on the Zone today.
Napalm, Khaos, Protool, Lady, Dee, and Prowler were among
the first players to add the SMAK tag to there zone name.
With
the team now complete, SMAK began to ladder. SMAK
started off slowly to get into the groove of laddering,
taking our time to learn the styles and rules of the Clan
Ladder. Once SMAK felt comfortable they began their
ascent to the top. Reaching rank 15 before hipracritical
flamers accused SMAK of cheating and turned SMAK off from
laddering.
We
went back to our roots of Hostage Rescue to lick our
laddering wounds and once again establish our once
dominate reputation in HR. After many months of
total domination SMAK decided that they need good hosts
because with they ramp up in the Internet, cable modems
just could not cut it. Enter Netgate and Doc.
Doc was the first "Denky" boy to join SMAK,
followed closely by FaceLessOne. Doc works in
Netgate and FaceLessOne is part owner of the fabulous
Internet Cafe in Denmark.
With
these two awesome hosts we were able to attract some very
good players. Every night Doc's servers were filled
to capacity with both "newb's" and veteran's who
just couldn't find any better hosts. Soon after that
SMAK opened their recruiting doors once again and the droves
upon droves of applicants came pouring in. At this
point SMAK was very selective of who they recruited, only
getting the best of best from what the Zone and Hostage
Rescue had to offer. Some key members who were
picked up were Great1, Gonzo, Samuraii, DeltaDK, Fin,
Doughboy, RaTzo,
Mopitt, and Laz Inc.
Soon
after this increase in SMAK's population, a fellow clan,
USARB was having major internal problems. After many
repeated attempts to unite the clan under the same banner,
arrangements could just not be agreed upon. USARB
broke apart with all key members going over to SMAK.
Gunter, Wizard, Gunner, Razor, Stalls, and Zimdawg joined
SMAK. Now with Gunter's leadership and former
military background SMAK was ready to hit the ladder's
once more.
Again
we started slowly, knowing full well that Vertigo's cheats
were in full effect by now. Let's fast forward about
a week when SMAK was facing Sixpag, who at the time was
ranked 1. SMAK defeated them and reached our new
record of rank 10! Shortly after that, Great1 was
caught with Stealth Vertigo and SMAK was rightfully
dropped 500 ranks. Needless to say Great1 was booted
from SMAK.
SMAK
continued to ladder with the team of FaceLessOne, Doc,
Mopitt, DeltaDK, and Laz Inc. where we beat ranks 1,2, and
3 in one day again making it to our record of rank
10. Shortly after this only the best clans and
cheaters survived and SMAK once again returned to our home
of Hostage Rescue. Where SyP was having similar
problems as per the former USARB. SMAK knew all the
members of SyP and stated that any members who wish to
join SMAK may do so. Skupie, Tazman, Cre8tor, Chalk,
Frodo and Alamo joined SMAK that day.
With
this final merger SMAK went back at the ladders for a
third time where once again we have been placed in the top
20 where we rightfully belong. To this day we are
still active in the Clan Ladder and striving to not only
break our record of rank 10, but achieve the ultimate goal
of getting to rank 1, both fairly, and respectably.
